David Jones
A native of the Upper Midwest, David Owen Jones became interested in cooking at an early age. Inspired by his mother's dishes, he's developed a personal philosophy that food should be accessible, honest, and creative—but above all, it should appeal to all palates. While attending college, David lived and worked on a farm. This understanding of food and how it is produced help explain his respect for quality ingredients and the critical role they play in his work.
After culinary school, David developed his talents at several noted restaurants, including Inn on the Lake, W.A Frost & Co., and Tulips. As Executive Chef at The Marsh, David uses his classical training to further his and The Marsh’s philosophy of supporting community through the use of locally produced and organic ingredients, while at the same time creating dishes that range from comfort to high cuisine. David further supports the community by working with several worthwhile charities and actively participates with organizations such as Share our Strength, Heartland Food Network, and the Chefs Collaborative.
