Sharing the ride reduces emissions and congestion. Metro Transit is offering FREE rides to the 2009 Expo using the Go Greener Pass.

Show the pass for free rides to the Expo on Metro Transit buses and light-rail trains, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. (May 2 & 3 only).

  • Free parking is available in the Midway Lot, two blocks west of the Grandstand. Limited on-street parking is also available.
  • Handicap parking is available on-street just east of the Grandstand on Dan Patch Avenue.

Bike to the Expo! Get some exercise, reduce CO2 emissions, and avoid hassles of parking!

Recommended routes (free map). Como Ave. is the best east-west route for pedalers. The north-south recommended route is Raymond Ave./Cleveland Ave. which runs along the western edge of the fairgrounds.Bring your bike on the bus

*Secure bike parking area (8 a.m.–7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday) where staff will be on hand to ensure safe check-in and check-out of your ride. Sponsored by Sibley Bike Depot.

All Metro Transit buses and trains have bike racks so you can pedal for part of your trip and ride for the rest.


Share the ride: Carpool

Visit metrotransit.org/rideshare to find others who want to cut emissions by carpooling to the Living Green Expo. Click on the Rideshare Planner then use the Trip Matching tool to share the ride to the Expo.

When you combine trips, you save more than the price of gas!

I-94 Eastbound: Exit at Snelling Ave. Turn left (north). Go 2 miles to Dan Patch Ave. You'll see the main entrance to the State Fair on your left. Enter fair grounds and drive straight ahead. The Grandstand is located straight ahead.

I-94 Westbound: Exit at Snelling Ave. Turn right (north). Go 2 miles to Dan Patch Ave. You'll see the main entrance to the State Fair on your left. Enter fair grounds and drive straight ahead. The Grandstand is located straight ahead.

Highway 36 Eastbound: Exit at Snelling Ave. South. Go south 2 miles to Dan Patch Ave. You'll see the main entrance to the State Fair on your right. Enter fair grounds and drive straight ahead. The Grandstand is located straight ahead.

Highway 36 Westbound: Exit at Snelling Ave South. Go south 2 miles to Dan Patch Ave. You'll see the main entrance to the State Fair on your right. Enter fair grounds and drive straight ahead. The Grandstand is located straight ahead.
